What is Machine Learning?
Machine learning, briefly speaking, is using data to teach a machine how to make an accurate decision without being explicitly programmed, allowing computers to access hidden insights and predict outcomes, leading to remarkable changes in businesses.
Businesses in all industries are beginning to capitalize on Machine Learning and gaining value from it. Google, Amazon, Netflix, and Uber are heavily using AI and Machine Learning techniques to create recommendation systems based on our preferences and behavior. Machine Learning is everywhere and so ubiquitous today that you probably use it dozens of times a day without knowing it. Ads that pop up on Google or product recommendations on Amazon are not some random guesses but coming from Machine Learning algorithms.
To better understand Machine Learning, We highly recommend the lecture on Introduction to Machine Learning by Prof. Grimson from MIT. He introduces machine learning and shows examples of supervised learning using feature vectors.
